![]() ![]() ![]() Now think of the most creative uses of those spells. Think about each of your abilities that don't expend resources as spells you can cast infinitely. ![]() You are like me, you normally play casters. Find places to hide and have your allies make noise to draw enemies out and get the jump on them. Find traps, pick locks, sneak down hallways and peer into rooms. Good thing he can now do it from 30 feet away and fall slowly if IF i'm caught off gaurd this is way too specificĭungeons are when rogues shine the most. I think a good level 3 spell selection for an arcane trickster would be find familiar, alarm or feather fall as your non enchantment/illusion spell, familiar and alarm are self explanatory and I gind Feather Fall really useful because pit traps are a bastard and who's #1 going to fall into the pit trap? The rogue attempting to disarm it. but sneak attack can potentially be limitless so you might as well skip the evocation spells altogether. You have very few spell slots and you can't normally access any damage spells. well actually no, you can't sneak attack with spells so. Now you're poppin locks with magic and disarming traps with magic and landing critical attacks wit. Tricksters are rogues first - pop locks, disarm traps, land critical attacks as often as possible. You may have to reframe your mindset, as a caster who wanted to do some martial stuff I would say Arcane Trickster is kinda the opposite, a martial dude who barely can cast. This resulted in a much easier encounter with that character because they couldn't cast all of their spells! I even gave the enemy caster advantage on the perception check to realize it, and still failed. The coolest trick I've ever seen someone make with AT is to use mage hand to pickpocket an enemy spellcaster's spell component pouch right off their belt. I see you have a ranged effect with Catapult, that's good because its one of the strong suits of EK and AT that they have access to ranged spells. They're good at dealing big bursts of damage in a single turn against vulnerable targets (either because they are unaware of your presence or because they're busy fighting one of your allies).Īs an arcane trickster, your best tricks are usually outside of combat. Rogues are typically very good at a few particular things, whichever skills you take expertise in. Tricksters are just rogues with some tricks.
